Pro Mat
Get to Know Us
The ProMat was created by a Makeup Artist & her Hairstylist husband. Faced with the challenge of finding an ideal mat for her makeup station, silicone was to messy and hard to clean, others were thick and wouldn't lay flat and towels have to be laundered after every use, the ideal Mat didn't exist. Together they took the initiative to design the ultimate ProMat... It was essential for the mat to not only be aesthetically pleasing but also to maintain cleanliness & facilitate easy sanitization between clients. The mat had to withstand harsh chemicals, including 70% and 99% alcohol, nail polishes, cosmetic adhesives, and exhibit resistance to staining from long-wear, waterproof, or highly pigmented cosmetics.
Portability was another critical factor; the mat needed to fit seamlessly into her kit while lying flat to keep products securely in place. Given that makeup artists often work on location—whether at clients’ homes, luxury hotels, or studios—it was imperative that the mat protected underlying surfaces from damage caused by liquids, creams, or pigmented powders.
After months of rigorous testing with various fabrics, they ultimately identified the perfect material for what has become the ProMat.
Each Made is custom cut, and sewn with LOVE in their studio in downtown Los Angeles.

Is the ProMat HeatProof?
The ProMat can withstand low temp setting irons and hot tools but it is NOT HeatProof. We recommend hairstylists use the ProMat for products, tools & accessories while having a separate heat proof mat for Hot Tools.
How do you clean the ProMat?
We recommend cleaning the ProMat with 70% alcohol and a tissue or paper towel. You can also use alcohol or disinfecting wipes. For stubborn spots we recommend using a touch of a makeup brush cleaner (Parian Spirit or Cinema Secrets) on a cotton round to easily remove any lingering pigments.
Make sure to do another wipe of alcohol to remove any brush cleaner residue.
You can also clean with a sponge, soap and warm water. We do not recommend soaking or saturating your ProMat in water.
To disinfect your ProMat, spray with 70% alcohol and let air dry.
If you care for your ProMat it will hold up and be a longterm staple in any beauty kit.
Does the ProMat come in different Colors?
NO. The ProMat was designed to look clean, and elevate your beauty set up. We currently only offer the ProMat in one color because Black is always Pro and always chic.
Do you offer custom sizes?
YES. If you would like a custom sized ProMat, please email us with the dimensions desired and we will let you know if we can accommodate.
How do you travel with the ProMat?
We recommend folding your ProMat in half or in thirds rather then rolling it. Rolling may cause the ProMat to develop ridges effecting how it lays.
If your ProMat gets dented in travel, just lay it flat and it will shortly re-flatten.
If you care for your ProMat it will hold up and be a longterm staple in beauty Kit.
